All of the cottages are located in neighborhoods and associations that offer private unguarded beaches for all of our guests. All cottages are within a fifteen mile radius of Presque Isle State Park which offers 7 miles of public guarded beaches and receives over four million visitors per year. Presque Isle also has trails for walking, biking, and rollerblading along with boat rentals and nature preserves. Anyone interested in rowboat/canoe rentals on Presque Isle can call 838-3938 for rentals. Both the Tom Ridge Environmental Center and Waldameer Amusement Park & Water World are both located at the entrance to Presque Isle State Park and can be fun for the whole family.

July and August weather will have approximately 20 sunny days each month with temperatures running in the 70’s average. Water temperature in July is 70, in August, 74 and in September, 71. The sunsets on the shores of Lake Erie are always spectacular.

Erie boasts great restaurants, shopping, a casino and horse racing track, and a bustling nightlife for visitors to enjoy. Lake Erie is also known for its great fishing with common species being perch, coho, smelt, walleye, rainbow trout and bass. There are many different areas to fish on and around Lake Erie. Fishing excursions can be rented for the day for those who would like to fish in the deep waters of Lake Erie.

The Lake Erie region is home to several wineries. Most of the wineries in the region are located in Northeast, home to the Northeast Cottage for those interested in wine trails and winery touring. Most wineries are set up for visitors and offer tours. The area offers a wine festival every summer for visitors to taste wines from all local vineyards.

For those interested in historical and cultural sightseeing while on vacation Erie is home to museums, art galleries, and is home to the Brig Niagara and the Maritime Museum. The brig Niagara played a pivotal role in the War of 1812 and is available for viewing while in the city.

Erie is home to a number of semi-professional and professional sports teams. The Erie Seawolves play AA baseball in the Eastern League as an affiliate of the Detroit Tigers.

Erie has a diverse musical and cultural population and loves to showcase local talent. Throughout the summer months several free events are held every week for those interested in seeing live music. Some of those events include free concerts every Tuesday at the Pepsi Amphitheater located along the Erie Bayfront and free concerts every Wednesday on the beach on Presque Isle State Park and every Thursday in downtown. There are also a number of summer events that attract people from all over the country, which include Erie Summer Festival of the Arts and Celebrate Erie.
